Welcome !

Welcome to Troop 44's web site designed to make communication faster and easier for our families. Monthly newsletters, calendars and permission slips are all published here along with a lot of other useful information. Weekly meeting plans are sent to every Scout via email and also posted here.
Troop 44 has been chartered to St. Paul Presbyterian Church since 1972 and we meet weekly on Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the church. We currently have between 20 and 30 registered Scouts and about the same number of adults participating as leaders or committee members.
The site is protected for the benefit of our Scouts. Please use the 'contact us' function if you need more information.

Tonight's meeting

Posted on Oct 30 2024 - 1:49pm

Yes, we are aware that Trick or Treat is tomorrow night. We are planning the meeting as usual, realizing that some of the younger Scouts will be out Trick or Treating rather than at the troop meeting. It is possible to do both since T-or-T is 6-8:00 PM; do an hour of house-to-house and then come to the meeting; it is your choice. The outing to Thomas Mitchell is going forward as planned. However, it may be rainy this weekend and definitely cooler so be prepared!

New Patrols

Posted on Oct 24 2024 - 2:24pm

No names or leaders have been selected for the two patrols. That will change in the next week or so.
Patrol 1:
Liam D.
Evan F.
Kaden G.
Kole G.

Next Outing Thomas Mitchell, November 1 - 3, 2024

Posted on Oct 9 2024 - 10:54pm

Tent camping at the youth campground. The shower house is closed, a porta-potty is provided.
A tall, wooded ridge is the most prominent natural feature of this park south of Mitchellville. Thomas Mitchell, a native of New Hampshire, built his cabin here along Camp Creek in 1844. His cabin site is no longer visible, but Polk County's first settler of European descent is still remembered by a park monument and the town of Mitchellville which bears his name.

Dear Troop 44 Families:
Thank you so much for your incredibly generous gift. We were able to use it to purchase a snow blower. Thank you so much for being a part of our lives. We are so proud and each and every one of you!
